About Harry Hughes...
Harry Hughes Youth Equestrian Center (The Harry Hughes Horseman Haven, Inc.) is a nonprofit organization developed in 1974, with the following mission:
The Mission of Harry Hughes Youth Equestrian Center is to teach sportsmanship through horsemanship.
Harry Hughes trained, showed and shared his knowledge and experience with young riders. His belief was that he could help children learn good sportsmanship through horsemanship.
Mr. Hughes became a National Director of the Appaloosa Horse Club. He judged horse shows and put on special clinics. He received an Honorary Member Award, which is the highest honor bestowed by the Ohio 4-H. He never charged money for his youth services.
Today, we carry on the spirit of fostering youth through horsemanship. Volunteer board members, along with the support of members, supporters, donors and volunteers, work hard to provide a safe and encouraging atmosphere for our youth and their equine partners.
We cannot stress enough, in today's age where screen time overwhelms us, how dedicated we are to providing a place where time can pass by effortlessly, youth and adults alike can share a kinship through horses, and the lessons learned through winning, losing, forging friendships, and being responsible become tools that last a lifetime.
We hope you will join us, whether by showing, riding, participating, donating, volunteering, or sponsoring. We can't do it without you!
